Agreed. Or your high tech can be inapplicable to the fight you have chosen. Russia devoted a lot of their military budget for the development of flashy prestige weapon systems that are not of much use in this invasion. The hypersonic missile? It’s not five times better than a conventional missile, it just gets to the target five times faster. This is not going to make a difference in Ukraine (although it could make a difference in other types of conflict). I think in Syria, Russia didn’t need discipline or a real doctrine: the “doctrine” seems to have been to exterminate the civilian population. The opposition was already divided into rival groups before the Russians arrived. There was already a dictator in place.

The chief Russian troop transport is a shot yellow bus.

Who can be fact-checked by a free and independent press? Not Russians.

And now they’re slowly siphoning units from other border areas, revealing how little a threat they think NATO really is. Fear of NATO is merely a pretext for this land grab.

I’m laughing at the pathetic GRU trolling attempts. They themselves are so out of touch with reality, due to the increasingly totalitarian nature of their own society. They don’t even understand how an independent press works—they don’t understand or accept even the concept of objective truth. To a Russian troll, truth is whatever like you can convince someone to believe. And now I will report them for misinformation and promoting terrorism.

@likalabi8417 Yes, that makes logical sense, anti-capitalist Ukrainians want to join the European Union because they hate the west. 🙄 Your incoherent “ideology” is based on a Putin cult of personality—which is why it lacks rationality.

@borisoreskovic6896 Yes, Boris, but Ukrainians are destroying Russians at a faster rate. What will you do when the war comes to Moscow?

What we are learning is that your tank platoon’s infantry support must be very good and far out ahead of you and to the sides. An effect of this is that your tank platoon is now less effective in supporting the infantry. The range on these modern AT weapons is similar to the range of modern tank guns. I’m not one of those saying tanks are useless and obsolete, but their role is going to be much more limited as breakthrough and assault weapons. The Ukrainians are fighting a mostly defensive war, and that is favoring infantry with AT weapons. Not to be a pessimist, but the same thing favoring Ukrainians on the defensive will be against them when they launch a true counter-offensive to expel the invaders. However (and as you probably know), the Russian military inside Ukraine also suffers from a raft of other problems that will be difficult to solve, especially the structural problems that are inherent to their system.
