I have an old college friend like this. Super bright first month of Freshman Year, became a serious dead head waste case by the time we graduated (as did I), spent 10 years bouncing around various neo-hippy communities, and then got his shit together went to law school. In many ways he’s still the same guy: The brilliant mind and the hippy. But he’s one hell of a defense attorney. He doesn’t sport the scraggly Jeff Lebowski look—he goes for a neat ponytail and (last time I saw him) was clean shaven.

@fksons4161 Big Lebowski jokes aside, you’re absolutely right. Opponents might be lulled by his hippie look, but this is the type that fights for each client as if it’s an important social cause (and probably uses his paying clients’ fees to support pro bono work on legitimate social justice cases). To underestimate this man as a slacker is a terrible mistake. The fact that his client is pleading guilty and cooperating should tell us that the government has a pretty damning case against the client, and that the client has damning information on “an elected official”. Fritz whatever-his-name-is will be determined that this “elected official”, whoever that might be, pays the price instead of his client. (It’s likely Gaetz, but let’s remember that Greenberg provided call girls and drugs to a whole contingent of Florida Republicans. It could be one of them under investigation.)
