@voiceofreason2674 You have a point. This thing in the U.S. has its own flavor. Our history of ideology based on racist hate also precedes the Nazis. But we can learn from the German experience. There’s differences but there’s also a lot over overlap. To a certain degree we might say that the ideologies are decorative bullshit to flatter and mislead the masses, and it doesn’t matter if you have a Hitlerian world view or a Leninist one. The real philosophy is “might makes right”, the goal is maximum power over others, and that goal justifies whatever means are necessary. Our American fascism uses conservatism as a front. It’s not real conservatism, but it divorces meanings from words to signal conservatism. This is part of the grift. The word “conservative” is essentially meaningless. For example. People who promote Christian Nationalism are not Christian. They use the symbols of Christ to flatter themselves and to flatter others, all the while setting themselves above the rest of us. They want to impose “Christian values”, but the values are not the key values of Christ.
