  2.  @mechanic6682  Sort of. He did so on the credible belief that his co-conspirators were preparing to offer him up as the scapegoat. You know the one about the two campers that are attacked by a bear? One starts putting on his shoes. The other says, “you’re crazy, you can’t outrun a bear!” To which he replies, “I don’t have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun YOU!” It’s the same thing with criminal conspiracies, except in that case, you want to run towards the bear and be the first one there.

  4. Yeah, near as I can make out, there’s a ton of compelling circumstantial evidence, but Cheney was hesitant to say there was a direct link between Trump and the people who organized the riot. So I’m going to guess they haven’t found anyone to say, “Trump gave the go ahead. I was there in the room.” But the investigation is ongoing. This is an interim report. Watergate had the tapes as a smoking gun. If there is a smoking gun yet to be revealed, it will be something like a burner phone.
