@panubun5312 Yes. Unfortunately, cutting ties with Russia involves cutting it off at its borders with democratic countries, particularly those it’s currently invading. The rest of the world would be quite content if Russia left other countries alone and tended its own garden.

@idpsalm3331 Wow, are you a dumb liar. Do you come from a society where you conveniently forget the past 30 years of history and just believe whatever the Kremlin tells you? Ukraine didn’t join NATO and wasn’t going to join NATO. In fact, it had already been rejected. That’s one of the more moronic things about Putin’s utterly daft invasion—now Ukraine will probably and eventually join NATO. And more countries on or near Russia’s border are joining NATO. Meanwhile, because Russia is losing so badly in Ukraine, it cannot even honor its defense treaties (Armenia for example). As much as I oppose the threat of Chinese expansionism, the world will be safer when Russia becomes a Chinese vassal state.

@joerogain5025 Solzhenitsyn bought a bill of goods. He’s not the first to be duped by a strong man and he won’t be the last. We can still value his important contributions (as you do by remembering his quote). I do agree that his association with Putin does diminish his moral force.
