I pity the ignorant fools that fall for the Antivaxxer/QAnon bullshit, but my contempt is reserved for the spreaders of disinformation and conspiracy theories for political purposes, like this victim Appleby. He wasn’t just a victim of Covid, he wasn’t just a victim of his own ignorance, he was a victim of his own hate. I don’t feel schadenfreude, but I do feel something similar—that his death was avoidable and entirely of his own choosing. It’s sadly ironic that the family he left behind is now a burden on society.

Yes, and people who understand that the pandemic is real and deadly serious also have the freedom to ostracize the unvaccinated, to refuse you service if you refuse to wear a mask, to not employ you, and to use our own freedom of speech to shame you into compliance with common sense health measure. Agreed? Antivaxxers seem to think freedom only applies to them.

  4. Down there, if there is a Heaven and Hell. This isn’t some pitiful ignorant person. This is someone who actively spread disinformation and conspiracy theories to many people. He is one of those that politicized the pandemic to attack political opponents. If there is a Heaven and a Hell, he’s in the later place.

  5. To be fair, it’s his family asking for help. Granted it’s sadly ironic that his family has become a burden on society due to his bad choices. He utterly failed to provide for them—I hope he knows this and is tortured by it, if he’s sitting in hell.
