@scottvelez3154 the latter. It’s tragic af that so many of us, taking all possible precautions, are suffering from the idiots, but the silver lining is that the idiots are removing themselves voluntarily at a faster rate.

My sympathies are with the victims of the collateral damage caused by these idiots that are hurting themselves. That said, if 5-10% of the population voluntarily (and stupidly) takes itself out, it might slow the progression of other problems we face, from catastrophic climate change to looming authoritarianism (which movement overlaps pandemic deniers). Generally, those that are anti-social, selfish, and immature are deleting themselves. The cost to the rest of us is high, but I hope that it will be beneficial to humanity in the long term. Call it a silver lining to a terrible situation or a blessing in disguise. I don’t hold a lot of sympathies for those people that are threats to society because common sense and common curtesy inconvenience them.
