  1. The vast majority of civilian deaths in Iraq were due to internecine warfare among religious militias and factions. I don’t think this relieves the U.S. of all responsibility, but it’s a far cry from our military killing civilians intentionally or inadvertently. The U.S. created the instability that unleashed the militias. This is something to keep in mind when a bot twists the facts and says the U.S. military killed a million Iraqi civilians. If you hear it from someone who isn’t a bot, you need to ask what else they are getting wrong and/or intentionally distorting.
