However, the FAA can’t do much more than impose civil penalties. Any criminal prosecution is up to police agencies in the relevant jurisdictions. This could be federal (the crash occurred on Federal land in the National Forest System) or state or county authorities that go after him. Edit: That said, even if he isn’t criminally prosecuted, I don’t think Trevor Jacob will survive his own idiocy for very long. He shows terrible judgement and poor impulse control. He can plan, but he doesn’t really think things through. Sooner or later, reality is going to give him a good hard fatal kick in the nuts.

  8. They didn’t have a good back up plan. The pilot that was able to regain control of the plane should have picked up the other pilot and dropped him off at the spinning plane before it crashed. That’s what Bugs Bunny would have done.

  27. I think he admitted to the FAA that it was a stunt to on the advice of his lawyers. If he tried to lie, he would instantly escalate the case into a serious criminal matter (beyond any criminal liabilities he’s already incurred). WRT to the parachute, I think he packed it into his ass. In case of emergency he will just fart it out. When Trevor reapplies for his license, the FAA will be taking a look at these videos he’s now releasing and seeing how he’s making a joke of the punishment. I also think the “settlement email” is fake.
