  4. If you work as a professional then the Bosch Dtect 120 is the clear winner. If you are a homeowner then your recommendations are good.

  5. As its listed at highly refined mineral oil then its not a true synthetic oil. If it was an oil it would be classed as a Group III oil. You should redo this test with a true synthetic, Group IV product. Engine flushes work best on the valve train.

  17. TBN of 12 is what you need. at least for diesel. The 1950's oil is good for a 1950 engine.

  24. I am 3 years in on Amsoil Signature Series 0W20 and gets tested every year. For diesel oil you need to look for a high TBN.

  36. Project Farm, not sure where you are but in the northern part of the country using ethanol has prevented no-start issues cased by water freezing and plugging the fuel system. It also helps the corn farmers have a market from their crops :)

  42. 7:38 you say oil has 2 main purposes, it has 3, the two you mentioned and keeping dirt suspended in the oil to help it stay cleaner (esp when using a filter).

  46. I thought you were going to switch out the regular oil for the 2 cycle oil. Of course the engine will run with 2-cycle oil in it, should produce more power (if your mower can adjust to it). Lots of race cars add oil to the fuel to gain more power. The 2-cycle oil I use can be mixed at 100:1
