STD is clearly what would result if you were to put a room full of people who absolutely and passionately hate ST and said "OKAAAYYY - how can we make a series that will once and forever destroy Star Trek without appearing to destroy Star Trek?" Of course this would be the second meeting since "Enterprise" did not completely do the job. Thank God the ST Kelvin committed Hari Kari so we don't have to address it any more.
