  1. dub ALWAYS sucks. Vocal nuances and inflection are lost completely. I don't want to hash here all reasons why but just watch anything from Miyazaki and/or Kurosawa in dub or sub and it will quickly become obvious why. I travel to Mexico frequently and see dubs of American movies and TV and they suffer so badly as to be unintelligible even when you know the language. Lithgow or Walken (for example) dubbed? What would be the point? You might as well just turn the sound off completely.

  2. That is an astounding well-thought analysis. References to Idiocracy as a future documentary (like Heinlein's and Asimov's future histories). Your analysis is spot on and AGAIN makes me feel sheepish for nor being able to articulate and formulate complex philosophical logical constructions. And thanks for walking me down memory lane: idiocracy was and still is HILARIOUS. You have to admit it holds up well as funny sarcasm after 14 years.
