  5. While you're picking nits, why don't you mention Simon referring to the Collector of the Port of Authority. It was Port of New York. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (not Port of Authority) is a more recent creation.

  7. Garfield died in 1881. X-rays weren't discovered/invented until 1895. Alexander Graham Bell did try to locate the bullet using a type of metal detector he had developed, but was unsuccessful.
