Nice. I've had Asus products for almost as long as I've been in the PC space... so 30 years by now.

@shazmosushi Their Prime line is great for people who get nausea when they see "gamer centric" designs. I have an Asus X570 Prime mother board and it's been a concrete block of pure solidity. Among the longest QVL lists for memory I've seen on any product and it's always one of the first to get the latest AGESA updates from AMD.

Only computer nerds like myself can name component brands. Lenovo doesn't really count, as it was sold off in it's entirety from IBM when they no longer wished to make consumer products. Besides the component manufacturers (MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock, PowerColor, XFX, Sapphire, etc, etc) I can only think of Acer... so who am I missing?

@Mr30friends Asianometry never made that case that Taiwan wasn't in an amazing position. Quite the contrary actually. But he is also right that Asus is one of the few "whole manufacturers" who has gained true international recognition. It's a similar story in my own country (Denmark). We sell a lot of technology/IP surrounding medical, agricultural and energy production equipment but our only two internationally recognized brands are Lurpak who makes butter of all things and B&O who make "fancier than Apple" audio and TV products.
