  1. Calling Bakhmut "a big city" is a bit of a stretch to put it mildly. It was 73k people prior to the war. That makes it the 56th largest city in Ukraine. I live in Denmark's 4th largest "city" (it's actually listed as a town on Wikipedia) which has 143k people but since Denmark only has a population of 5.8 million the perspective is rather different to Ukraine's 45 million people. In terms to population Bakhmut is comparable to Esbjerg (71k people/5th largest) which is a "fully functional" city in Denmark, but by no means "a big city" even by Danish standards. I mean there are shops of every kind and a night life sector, but it's absolutely not a city where you go "I'm never going to learn to navigate this place without a GPS".
