As a Dane: If the gopniks try ANYTHING in Finland or the Baltics I'll promptly forget that I left the army 11 years ago, and just go before the politicians even have time to call everyone in for a crisis meeting. I know plenty of people in the reserves who feel the exact same. We won't ask permission and we won't wait for instructions. My wife specifically forbade me to go to Ukraine because she could tell I was contemplating it. I will not be receptive to neither reason nor pleading in the case of NB8 countries. Those are our brothers. Messing with the brothers automatically triggers berserk mode.

@traumvonhaiti I'd go without blinking. I didn't buy "the LPR/DPR/Crimean separatist movement" in 2014, and Putin made the catastrophic blunder of acknowledging publicly that it was a covert invasion. He doesn't get to play that card twice. I had the good fortune of training Estonian lads in the mid to late 90s, as they were working hard to ascend to NATO as quickly as possible, which is why the NB8 security initiatives were formed. I worked with some of them in Bosnia, too. I have a good friend from Latvia here in Denmark too, so I have a pretty good grasp on what the internal relations are like. If the Baltic gopniks, many of whom don't even have citizenship, suddenly/magically have guns and want "independence" by force, there is only one correct response: Don't wait for any kind of resolution. Just start fighting with what's closest at hand like the Ukrainians did. The meat wave assaults will be coming soon enough, and those trenches don't dig themselves.
