@golokavrndavana He has been lectured on the strategic situation in Ukraine by Blinken and Austin themselves, and STILL he spouts this shit publicly because he knows the average media consumer thinks that sounds like a plausible and reasonable demand. AKA political obfuscation. He can't say "over my dead body!" when there is broad bi-partisan support. He knows full well that if he schedules a separate vote that says "$60 billion in aid for Ukraine delivered as physical military items. No ifs and buts" then it's going to get 65-70% majority vote in the House, go straight to Congress and get voted in with 75-80% to be immediately signed by Biden the same day. So he has to pretend that he is all for it, but there is just this tiny little thing that someone else is not providing him with. As if he, a lowly House politician should be the final judge on what goes to vote or not. The Speaker of the House is supposed to weed out lame fringe bills that only wastes everyone's time because it's clearly going to be 97% against, 2% absent and 1% for. He's bloody not supposed to cock-block a vote that he knows full well will pass with broad support! I hope that explained what political obfuscation is. Otherwise, don't hesitate to ask further questions.

Just check which comments Anders has given the heart icon thingie, and it becomes absolutely clear he didn't call Mike Johnson an idiot. He called him a liar. Still very politely though.

How enormously "polite" of you to think that Mike Johnson isn't perfectly aware that he's spouting absolute BS that, at face value, sounds plausible enough to not cause immediate backlash.

@stream2watch No. The US not only recognized Ukraines borders but also gave a blanket statement security guarantee in the case those borders were threatened. As did the UK. As did Russia. But Russia's word is worthless.
