The second drone (the one that managed to put a patch of roof on fire) looked like home made Napalm B. The spread was fairly consistent and the flames were bright yellow with an orange tint. Makeshift Napalm B contains acetone and polystyrene ("Styrofoam") and sometimes a drop of dish soap. It is best dispersed with a gas generating propellant like nitrocellulose, a metal+percholate misture or black powder as opposed to a detonating secondary explosive like TNT or HMX. So while I agree the first one looked strange as hell because it went off on what was clearly wing contact, the second one was clearly not what you describe. In fact, if I had to hazard a guess, the first one also contained makeshift Napalm B, but the acetone was far from saturated which caused it to mostly flash off in the atmosphere, leaving only a few droplets that looked like what you describes as embers. Disclaimer: I do not have experience with civilian pyrotechnics at all, but I do have extensive experience with military demolition and IEDs.

@Haligonian There is a clear "Danish methodology" in his communication style. We see it as unprofessional to be brasen or bold, so there will be plenty of "usually/often/maybe/perhaps/not unheard of/seen before" interjections to not deny people reasoning agency. This guy writes reports for, and directly consults, politicians and other state function employees, so he is expected to navigate the fine line between being unbiased and factual while also presenting a sort of "this is probably the most plausible interpretation" sum-up based on previous experiences with the subject matter at hand.

Have you seen the second drone strike? That one managed to set a good patch of the roof on fire. And secondly, why do you think it was the wrong building? At 2:15AM there will be nobody in any of the buildings, so just hitting the most visible one could make sense. And they immediately published that both drones were "downed" before they realised there was a good shot of the second one available. And it has gotten very little coverage, which is probably the most objectively measurable one. I do not think this was Ukraine. I think this was either the same group who's claimed responsibility for a lot of train derailments (also suspected to have blown up the gas line in Eastern Russia) or the far right nutters who want every man, woman and child to be conscripted, armed, trained and sent to burn all of Ukraine to the ground.

Except they initially said both drones where "downed using electromagnetic countermeasures"... and then the footage of the second drone hitting, and setting a good patch of the roof on fire, surfaced later making them look like idiots (again). My money is on the National Republican Army or the far right nutters who want escalation.
