For 7.62 Tokarev I'd assume it would hide the flash very well. For 9mm the holes looked a bit on the small side. But the point of having a flash hider on an SMG is mostly for rapid aiming, as everyone within the guns effective range will instantly know where the shooter is anyway.

Which is probably why not many were made. Scaling something as nice as this up to rapid manufacturing either takes a lot of time or costs a lot of money. If they'd gone for a domestic "grease gun" clone they could probably have pumped out thousands instead of hundreds. But I'm glad they didn't as this is so much cooler.
