  1. Make sure the one you get is rated for flammable solvent. Mine isn't, so I'm afraid of arcing causing a kaboom. That said, a mix of water with low foaming soap, 10% acetone and 10% alcohol works wonders on everything I throw in it. I imagine valve cleaner for car engines would work very well with a solvent rated cleaner. Engine carbon build-up isn't chemically far off of gunpowder residue.

  4.  @arthurmoore9488  You can get ultrasound cleaners that are rated for flammable solvents (water is also a solvent, but only chemistry nerds know that).
