  3. As a Dane I'm mildly miffed that the Norwegians have dethroned the Madsen machine gun as the most adorably wonky, needlessly complex, but still absolutly genius, gun design in history. But I take solace in the fact that the Madsen machine gun actually worked.

  4. But then we remember the first rule of engineering: The best part is no part. If that is not possible the best part is multifunctional. If that is not possible the best part has simple geometry. If that is not possible you need to start over from first principles.
