  1. As someone who's served with both the G3 and the C7 I couldn't agree more. Too many things constitutes "proper cover" for the 5.56. Having a cartridge which is flatter shooting AND has petter piercing ability than 7.62 is going to be a major boon. 7.62 already made short work of single layer brick walls at 50 meters. This uber powered 6.8 with a steel core might extend that to some 100 meters. Being able to penetrate body armour is going to be "the justifying trick" for this calibre, but it's real value is going to in it's versatility against "medium hardness obstacles". Because, lets face it, this rifle is going to be used a lot more against insurgents using hit-and-run tactics in diverse environments than against Spetznas troops in a direct confrontation.
