I can't afford these books, but I think it's really freaking cool that Ian-and-publishing-crew are doing such a great job of publicising niche publications and making sure they don't look like a niche publication at all. I have a number of very-specific-interest books myself, and it really shows. Some are simply photocopies of typewriter text and not-too-great hand drawings. These high gloss pages with glorious photos, razor sharp print and attention to decorative details really lift a niche topic into the lime light, giving it every chance to become a more broadly appreciated topic. That Ian will accept nothing less than the highest standards of historical accuracy (and admittance when the past is so murky that details will be partly educated guesses) is of cause the most important thing. But it's really rare to have both in the same work.
