  1. I've always wondered why, for such a specialized item, that they didn't insist on making a custom cartridge just for this purpose. Some honking big freight train of a subsonic bullet, as long and narrow as can feasibly be spin stabilized to the design criteria range would seem ideal. If it was designed specifically for, say. a 2" barrel with a very fast burning powder, the only "game left" is to expand and cool the gas as much as possible.
