This has no real appeal as long as it is not select fire. It's basically a hand gun with a shoulder stock... and a bit longer barrel.

@bioforce5 Where exactly are pistol calibre semi auto carbines very popular? I've never even seen any armed force or law enforcement agency use the full auto variants except for highly specialized stuff where it fits a very specific set of compromises. And an MP5/UMP would be the obvious choice in many of those cases anyway. For the times where the shortness isn't a hard requirement there are plenty of bulbup carbines in 5.56/.208 with a much better ballistic trajectory at the expense of only a few inches and maybe a pound of extra weight. A semi only pistol calibre carbine just seem like a solution to a question nobody (worthwhile) ever asked. Sure, a few sales to the private tacticool toy soldiers might happen... but... novelties and toys for grownups rarely equates to "popular" by the normal figures of firearms manufacturing.

@0neDoomedSpaceMarine If you need that, then what's wrong with a rifle calibre carbine? Or a proper SMG where you have the option of full auto? And yes, I do understand the differences. I've been in service and did two tours on Balkan. This is as useful as tits on a fish, even for home defence. In doors there are no distances longer than you can do a center body shot from a hip hold, but the extra length makes it a liability if things get ugly up close. Out doors there are a ton of better options.... Really, the semi auto nature of this makes it a range toy.
