British King already took Nazi German side, the British Nazi party in Britain was 80,000 strong. We even today do not know what behind all that business with Rudolf Hess appearance in Britain in 1941, documents about it still not open in Britain even now. So Britain could become Hitler's ally.

France and Britain just year before presented Czechoslovakia as a gift to Hitler. Britain rejected all Soviet attempts to create alliance against Hitler. When Hitler invaded Poland, Britain and France pretended that they go to war with Hitler, still doing nothing. But Soviet Union didn't allow Germans to occupy Poland. Do you get it or not: It was Soviet Union who was in fact against Hitler all along, doing not pretending like it was with Britain or France case.

@ralphbernhard1757 Stalin did not "intended to sit on the fence". Soviet Union moved forward not allowing Germans to grab more territory in Poland, for example. Or in Finland. Of Baltic. Meanwhile future Soviet allies, like Britain and France, were just barking from behind the fence, pretending doing something.

@Fella12366 Without Soviet Union move for deoccupying west of Ukraine and Belorussia, Germans would grab that land too after defeating Poland. It was obvious even to stupid British and French Governments at the time - they still barking on Germany like declaring verbal "war" for "protecting" Poland, but no war was declared to Soviet Union. And it's obvious event more now as afterthought. The same situation with Finland, were Soviets were trying to negotiate with Finns land exchange, but Finns were under influence of the same stupid British Government and didn't agree to Soviet offer, which was absolutely right that time and still right today, after events happened.
