Some part of the Great Britain, the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), is still in South hemisphere, near Latin America. So, because of it, by your weird "logic", Great Britain is not an European country, as part of it, like part of Russia, is not in Europe.
Russia is the biggest European country, like it or not, it's the fact of geography. European part of Russia is five-fold bigger that all the territory of the Ukraine.
