  2. Follow politics for any length of time and you begin to realize that it's nothing more than low grade theater. The major parties are aligned on 85% of the issues* and the rest is just culture war BS that is of no significance to anyone. But it does serve as a convenient distraction for the masses, ratings gold for cable news and a fundraising bonanza for the parties. (* If you doubt this, watch how they vote on issues; that's what matters. Ignore what they say.)
