You're always going to find a certain segment of the population who think this way and you're never going to convince them and quite frankly, it's a waste of time trying. I've also found something else to be true and that's that they're almost never the people they pretend to be. This dude - "I'm certainly not low or middle income!".... Yeah; you're probably on welfare! You're certainly not wealthy or if you are, it was gifted to you. Anyone who thinks that way certainly doesn't have the wits to create wealth for themselves. There are many ways to respond to people like this. None of them are going to change any minds but you can still have a bit of fun. One of my favorite ways is to simply say.... "You know what? You're right. I AM disgusting. I realize that now and I also realize that there's no path to redemption for me. So I think the very best thing for all of us is if I just take all my dirty, ill-gotten wealth and leave your presence right now. I'm simply not worthy to live among you." To which I follow up with a few good belly laughs.....
