  1. That's all fine and dandy for the present but it doesn't account for 2, 3, 5 years down the road. I don't think anyone seriously believes Texas will turn blue tomorrow, next week or even next year but the trend lines are worrying. Some of those elections that the governor spoke of, while victories, were nonetheless much closer than they ought to have been. I personally know two families this year alone who've moved OUT of Texas because they can see the transition happening before their eyes and they DON'T like it.
