  1. I was pretty sure he was going to refer to something internal. I didn't known he'd be that specific but it's certainly a valid point. As someone said below, we can not be defeated from without until we are first broken from within and for at least a quarter century now, there have been innumerable actors, domestic and foreign, who have been working diligently towards that very goal. Why waste time and energy trying to win a war against us if you can easily get us to destroy ourselves for a fraction of the cost? Their successes have not yet been total but they have been significant.
