A developing economy like Greece and Poland would be better positiined at staying nimble and managing it's own border, and unique but competitive with shorter lifecycle service industries. The only heavy lifters industrialists like in Germany, France and Italy will get the most economic scale of benefits under free movement of goods and cheap labors. Everything else like Social benefits sounds like an add on, nice to have features but not a must have. Especially with current energy inflation across the members you would expect the EU is providing more economic incentives to stay.
