  1. Don't fight the Fed. You have to show what they are looking for. Meaningful pullback in supply AND demand. Until that happens the Fed won't be convinced that high inflation is fully contained..as per Larry Summer.

  2. Because without a clear sign of demand shock it would be impossible to contain a high inflation. If people still believe that home prices will be up with 5%+ mortgage then the Fed will keep pushing for a higher funds rate as a backstop. So far we have seen only supply shock - less available new homes. That's only one part of the equation
