As 35 year carpenter that began doing strictly apartments in the union at a high pace for my first 13 years. I have cut hundreds if not thousands of sets of stairs as well as formed many concrete stairs this is the absolute best man to watch when you need to learn. I’m not one for the camera but I’m glad men like this are out here sharing their knowledge!

There’s a guy on YouTube that has nothing but old machines like this in his shop. He’s restored them all to like new condition and it is absolutely glorious

I actually prefer a straight blade and cut from the back side.

People at the boat launch backing up jet skis will prove that😂

@jamesbeecher4431 An 1/8” in framing is definitely tolerable it’s the thickness of the blade. A lot of framers would call it perfect. If it bothers you just knowing it’s off putting an extra layer or two of joist tape on them is a great idea! Stairs can be intimidating for some but they really aren’t that difficult, at least most, hats off to you for taking on and completing them!

Love your videos thanks for sharing. I don’t think most people have any clue what really goes into building a quality house.

I framed a 12,000 sf house 5 years ago and every wall, interior and exterior, were LSL stud and the roof was all 14” LVL rafters. Per the customer’s request it was all screwed together with GRK 3 1\4” screws, we burnt up 4 impact drivers and I heard those things in my sleep every night for almost a year. Last I asked the lumber salesman we had used $68,000 in screws alone. I recently saw they have a new product called a scrail, you can fire it out of a gun but remove it like a screw.

Seeing your grandson testing the fall protection was awesome!

Projects like this are what brought this great country out of the Great Depression.

Do your cabinet installer a favor and add blocking in the framing. Love your videos.

I was doing a small job recently and need 6-2x4x8’ there was a big box store nearby it took my looking through at least 30 boards to find six decent ones. Not good but just decent I don’t know how anyone can frame a house with such junk. I framed my last house 7 years ago and we used all LSL studs obviously a bit more expensive but well worth it in my opinion

LVL is definitely the way to go go if it’s in the budget.

Call it punch out work in Michigan and it’s a huge part of the job most people ignore
