  2.  @Joybuzzahz  Like Hong wasn't exactly well lectured in Christian theology but that isn't enough reasons to just paint him as a Makivelian using the religion just for power. Like China was far from majority Christian at the time and some white lotus or Buddhist inspired cult would have worked far better for riling up the population with religion(hell, even Islam would have worked better for that). So he must have believed in a significant part of what he was claiming.

  3. The legacy of the Taiping rebellion is kinda weird as it both justifies the CCP and is used an example of Chinese proto-communism and also kinda justifies the CCP's fear/hate for Christianity as well, deadliest Civil war levels fear.
