Basically what this does is half justify the Japanese internements. Like people always claim that there was no chance at all that the Japanese in America would work with for the Japanese government but this and the actions of Japanese people in supporting Japan spies and soldiers in several USA pacific holdings show that yes, the fear was based in reality.

@zxera9702 "Muslims enslaved everyone lol while Europeans would almost always prefer blacks" how does this make islam sound better? It just makes it sound more barbaric. And yes, the Arabs too had anti-Black racism. They were the first Abrahamics to use the "Curse of Ham" to justify enslaving Black people, anti-Black racism was so prevalent in the Arab world that a Black Muslims schoolar had to write this book "Glory Black Race by Al Jahiz" to argue against them but it remain to different extends throughout the Arab influenced world. Traditional ''European Christianity" is still theologically near indistinguishable to the lay man to Ethiopian, Nubian or Takrurian Christianity.

@GAndreC This isn't about saying all Japanese people are guilty its about avoiding war costs. The interment avoided any Japanese behind the lines attack and the interned people weren't treated inhumanely so it is easily justifiable.

Islam in its origins is as foreign as Christianity but to the communities that had adopted it for centuries it wasn't foreign to them it was their traditional religion, in the similar way that Christianity entrenched in Europe, Ethiopia and Nubia; Islam entrenched in much of North Africa and Northern West Africa.

@westrim Yeah, the Japanese in Hawai'i were not interned cuz the entire island chain was put under martial rule(also the stuff about that being impractical).

@arrow1414 How does the Japanese internment have anything to do with racial inequality?. It was proven on several points that yes, a not insignificant number of Japanese people would ally with the Japanese government and Japanese spies could try to create an insurgency and the Japanese population was small and known enough to inter. If the Germans were as marginal to American society and potentially threatening as the Japanese they too would have been interred. And it was also proven on several conditions that the Japanese interment camps were not in inhumane conditions. More people left those camps than came in to show how liveable they were.

I find that hard to believe given that the Ethiopian Church had made it a legally binding Sin for Christians to engage in the slave trade since the middle ages (In the middle ages they could around this by letting the Muslim states do the slave trade and tax them but this was no longer viable). So unless there is more info on this, this seems life Italy calling Serfs Slaves to justify their conquest.
3
@franzjoseph1837 The Italian version of Fascism had no racial components baked in. It was just the typical European racism of the era, nothing specially tied to Italian Fascism.
3
@AudaciousBourgeois Oh, pls. The white Europeans made slavery a racial issue of Whites having the innate right to dominate Blacks and Ethiopia was the physical evidence for AAs that that was false.
3
@scott2452 Ethiopia had been a Christian state for centuries and its Church for centuries had discouraged Christians from participating in slavery. Most likely the Italians were calling serfs/peasants, slaves for their propaganda and let us not forget the Italians practically still "enslaved" those people with their corvee system of labour but supposedly came to free them right?

@rediettadesse2828 This occured before the WWII and Jabzy even mentioned the alliance in the video so you;re wrong.
3
@Leo the British-Filipino Yeah, very unfortunate.
3
@Sam Wallace Fine, 40s Americans weren't exactly not racist but they certainly had far more reasons than race to inter the Japanese and anybody that says it was only because of racism doesn't know what they're saying.
3
That's 1. An exaggeration of what they thought 2. A believe strong in the army, not among the groups that were actually trying to ally with the non-Western world, you know like the Black Dragon Association
3
@rediettadesse2828 The Japanese government was trying to ally Ethiopia and sent money and expertise to the Ethiopians, this also raised their reputation among Black nationalist groups and the Ethiopians took significant Japanese influence like doing their new constitution to mimic the Meiji constitution. This fell apart when Italy invaded Ethiopia and rather than support Ethiopia, already building relations with Germany and Italy, abandoned Ethiopia to form the Axis with Italy and Germany.

@abdurrahmanqureshi3030 The point I mean, what that means is that Muslims are on the same moral level as every other group with an Imperial history and thus have no higher group to speak morally against Europeans.
2
@devin5297 Because there weren't Germans or Italians in America helping the NAZIs or Fascists with an attack on American territory, neither was there any real German or Italian plan to cause insurgencies in America to take American land.
2
@abdurrahmanqureshi3030 You can't really. The Jews and Armenians in their respective camps were systematically killed and their properties seized. The Japanese were not only not killed but their population actually grew in the camps, they could work and maintain a career in the camps and their properties outside the camps were secured. No comparison can be made here.
2
@OurLordandSaviorSigmar But that's the thing, they wouldn't have had any direct control over any majority black lands
2
@scott2452 Okay, I'll check up later to be sure. But I am sure the Ethiopian Church made it a sin for Christians to be involved in the slave trade, although as this didn't completely rule out prisoners of war there were still loop holes. And I was skeptical of that because arrangements in Indonesia, West Africa and the Philippines that in practice indistinguishable from Serf-Lord arrangements were deemed slavery by several European observers.
1
They also made some stuff with Ethiopia
1
@abdurrahmanqureshi3030 Well, thanks for that info. I knew there were Fascist and NAZI influenced parties but didn't know anyone of them got shut down when the war started.

@GasPipeJimmy I highly doubt that the Japanese were strong enough that even if the Europeans were distracted in the West and the USA doesn't interfere, that they'll be able to take any territory in Africa. Like I am not trying to defend the imperial Japanese army, they were horrible but I don't think they had any real opportunity to spread that horribleness to Africa and the Enemy of my Enemy is my friend is the norm of history not the exception. As long as they're not conquering parts of Africa, I think they would retain the Black Nationalist support.
