@biogamer0291 How is this propaganda? The NAZI establishment never called themselves or their ideology Fascist. It is a terminologization made up by historians and political analysists like "Byzantine".

Is that that notoriously bullshit Authoritarian Personality book?

@thedemolitionmuniciple How doesn't that matter?. Fascism is supposedly an ideology, its not a simple physical thing like the sharpness of a knief. We take alot of care with self description in any anthropological setting. So the self description of the German establishment in the 1930s-1940s does matter even if not the end all be all itself.

@lewisknight2226 Okay, then. Guess I'm Fascist and Proud.

They also meet much of the 4th one when one extends the definition of religion just a bit to the definition used by most religious studies departments today.

Damn, coming back to this after a year, I guess I am a fascist. Noice. I guess time to read the ideology of Fascism to see how this ideology is supposed to work.

And they're left compared to much of the world. I guess we're mostly Fascist.

@interbard more right wing than which part of the world? India? Zimbabwe? Fiji?.
1
@interbard the same Europe with a (supposed) dictator in Hungary, a (supposed) neo-Fascist in Italy and Terf Island.
1
@interbard That those 3 countries are what first came to mind to me doesn't mean they're the only examples. There's also Serbia, for one. And Guess what, America's government's divided too.

@brinkipinki no there kinda were at least by the NAZI definitions, kinda.

@georgecampbell9190 Oh, shit. It's been a year already. The book basically defines authoritarianism as Fascism essentially defining out leftist authoritarian groups as the USSR or Tankies from being leftist and as such, protecting the reputation of the left. It doesn't even suppliment this definition of Fascism with what Fascists actually believe as such it is a book claiming to be trying to explain what Fascism is and what they believe without actually trying to understand what the Fascists actually believed. If someone did that to explain communism they would be resoundly ridiculed but it's accepted for Fascism, cuz it is clearly a retorical device and not an attempt at getting to truth.

Given on the recent criticism videos on JP, I guess he has to be extremely careful on what he says.
