Some joker marked my comment describing how oil/crude pumping works, as 'abusive' Here's trying again:
The thing with pumping oil. especially in colder regions- as explained to me by an engineer in that biz, is that it HAS to stay in motion, if a pump, or heating element fails, the pumpable mix changes into something resembling hardened chewing-gum that usually clogs up everything, and worse even, cannot be removed by heating again. Pipes, pumps, they become useless and must be disassembled and built anew. Needing new parts, because you're not getting that chewing-gum out of yhe innards. And when it's winter and freezing it gets worse. So, in retrospect, IF You'd want to disrupt an oil industry, wìnter is the ideal season to properly do so.
