  1.  @danrothman6129  These are the types of comments that make you realize you can convince people of anything through good rhetoric. Any villain can be twisted into a hero and any hero a villain as long as you are a good wordsmith. But under scrutiny and with critical thinking, the bias of such statements becomes obvious.

  2.  @danrothman6129  All I'm saying is that you're the one saying you can't blame Cipher, when it's entirely clear he is written as almost a purely villainous character. He's arrogant, he was creeping on women, and only displayed selfish tendencies, not caring for anyone else. And when he betrayed everyone, it was of his own will and not even under any kind of duress like the typical cliche is. And when he was doing it, he went full villain with the speeches, taunting and everything. The only argument for him is your comment interpreting him saying "he wanted to be someone important" as him wanting to be "apart of a community" rather than the obvious implication that he wants social status, power and fame. If it was about community, why wouldn't he mention other people. He got into his situation by taking the red pill, and showed no remorse and even enjoyment in killing people for his own selfish reasons. I just think it's funny contrarian woke viewpoints can become popular no matter how lacking in common sense they are. It reminds me of the whole actually the Jedi are evil and the sith and empire were better nonsense.

Like any good work with philosophy, it's not really telling you this is the way it is, but rather starting a discussion that can have many different interpretations. In this case, about free will vs determinism. Your theory about 'soft determinism' is a good interpretation, but certainly not the only or 'correct' interpretation.

  4.  @ehekatzin.belai-al-rumi  There's this concept called accepting responsibility for your choices. Cipher was given a choice of red vs blue pill too. If he really wanted to, he could've returned to his nice life. But he chose the other thing. It turned out he didn't like the choice, but that's life. Just because you ended up in a shitty situation through your own choices, that doesn't mean we can't blame you for betraying and killing your allies just to improve your situation.

  6.  @canadian__ninja  It's kinda obvious that if you tell people about the realities of the matrix and unplugging, you are essentially redpilling them already. Knowing about the matrix is the redpill, and agents may realize the illusion is not working for that person. The only way they can return to their normal lives is not telling them and giving them the choice.
