  1.  @goosegirly6867  Yep, there's been some increase due to improved emergency treatment, but the bulk of the increased life efficiency is from childhood mortality decreases. There's also another bump due to decreased deaths during childbirth. There's no reason why somebody that is free of accident and illness today is going to live longer than in the past.

  2. Possibly, bitrot is a real problem. We collect a ton of data, but we don't know what to preserve. Many important things like game source code is already lost forever.
