You should apologize; most cats would have a much easier go if it than a typical Libertarian would. The whole philosophy requires an astonishing level of ignorance about the world.

Libertarianism has been broken for decades at this point and most of the time the "Libertarians" are actually fascists as somehow, it's just government power that they take issue with, corporate or church power is fine. Which completely misses the point. We shouldn't have that kind of concentration of power anywhere other than in the citizenry.

@Justin_Beaver564 First off, you greatly underestimate just how much power corporations have now, they get to dictate the terms of things that the government would never be able to get away with. Secondly, you make it sound like it's OK to not have proper regulations to keep the corporations from having more power than they already do. They already get to skip out on paying taxes or living wages, and somehow get to dictate what the laws are through lobbying that normal people could never afford to do.

@valkyrie321 I think part of the issue is that Libertarians have tarnished the idea to the point where more moderate voices that consider any unnecessary accumulation of power outside of the people to be a grave danger have stopped using any related terms.

@supermario69kraftgami23 That's an absolute load of crap. That is precisely the opposite of true. Monopolies destroy competition, they aren't caused by a lack of competition. And patents and regulations are what causes decentralization, not what causes monopolies. This is not even remotely confusing or complicated. It's just that a bunch of Ayn Rand wannabes choose not to learn anything from history.

You mean civil libertarianism, Libertarians love fascism, it's why they universally oppose measures to keep corporations from running amok. Civil libertarians are the ones that are concerned with accumulations of power outside of the people. Libertarians are the ones that are only concerned by it when it's the government.

@supermario69kraftgami23 Nonsense, that's the same idiotic claim that Libertarians trot out all the time. Monopolies exist because things always proceed that direction in the absence of regulations to stop it. Patents, copyrights and Trademarks have absolutely nothing to do with that and are of absolutely no value to any company that has enough market share to be a monopoly.
