@brent2182 It really isn't a scary time, quit exaggerating. We don't all in the community take that view, some of us have figured out how to live our lives without going around offending people and antagonizing them. It's a relatively small portion of the population that is offended by such things to the point where our mere existence is enough to throw them into a murderous rage. I've almost been murdered on multiple occasions and not one of those times had anything to do with my sexual orientation. People need to just chill out and maybe do some introspection as to why the message has been falling flat with the people on the other side. Perhaps actually talk to some of them and figure out what the common ground is, because most of us are being oppressed by the same system.

I think it's more accurate to say that most Americans refuse to vote because neither of the major parties bothers to go out and earn their votes with policies that they want. We won't get 100% of eligible voters to vote ever, even countries that do have 100% participation, don't have 100% engagement, they have a bunch of people nominally voting to vote.

@RedDotInABlueState91 I think the point when people mention that is that there's a lot of disaffected people that could theoretically show up to vote and they tend to skew blue when they show up. Although, with the Democrats giving as little as possible to the voters for such a prolonged period of time, I'm not sure that we can make the normal inferences about how they might vote if they could be convinced to.

@Aires457 That's it precisely. The DNC chose not to have an open primary, or to make her justify her nomination at the convention because Ohio might not accommodate them naming the candidate late. It was close enough in some of those states that one issue might not have been enough, but being on the wrong side of Gaza and one of the other things wrong with her candidacy like not offering working class men a reason to vote for her were enough.

You do realize, that the activists claiming to represent them are part of why Trump one, right? There's a difference between living your life out in the open and deliberately antagonizing the opposition with things like drag queen story time for children and freaking out if people that don't don't have any reason to expect you to want other pronouns or absolutely insisting that biological women are birthing people and such nonsense. Same goes for a bunch of other groups. Society may well get to the point where those are accepted positions, but we're nowhere near that point and deliberately offending people is unlikely to get us there anytime soon. It's really up to these various communities to decide what's best for them, but it rings rather hollow for people to whine about the outcome of this election when it was the result of mindless activism with no thought about what the consequences would be. Harris was only the VP because people were freaking out and Biden promised to choose a woman of color for his VP pick to get him passed the primaries.

There is no other timeline, the DNC sucks in all possible timelines.

We won't, the DNC didn't learn anything from 2016 or 2020, or really 2000 or 2004, they won't learn anything from this time either.
