That's been the case for decades, though. I remember watching Beavis and Butthead before the disclaimers. The first episode I ever watched was that episode with Frog Baseball and trip to the blood bank that was banned shortly thereafter. By the time I was in college 20ish years ago, all my friends were talking about how much of a slide the channel had taken from being the cool one to VH1 being the cool channel that people actually watched. To be fair, those pop up video shows were awesome. It's a shame to have been watching through such an important era and for the channel to have so completely collapsed. I'd watch religiously in the morning before school to wake me up, and I'd stay up too late watching The State and MTV's Oddities. The Max was awesome, I should get the books. And the first few episodes of The Real World remain the only reality TV programs I've ever watched.I don't know why, but there was something about it that just seemed to be authentic. Or at least plausible.
