Probably, they still need to be concerned about somebody else aligned with the Sunnis deciding to take advantage of the opening. But, even if they are just sending proxies, cash and supplies, it could still be a massive problem in the region. Hopefully when the smoke clears, the US will stop propping up the Israelis and demand that humanitarian aid be allowed to flow into the embargoed areas to help ease the suffering and hopefully reduce the support, and need, for terrorist activities.

It's kind of funny that Israel and Iran used to be kind of buddy buddy as the US was funding Iraq and neither Israel nor the Iranians had any positive feelings towards Saddam.

@happyhelen1988 That's a detail that a lot miss. Suicide attacks from those areas are relatively cheap because despair is high and even humanitarian supplies are hard to get because Israel won't allow much of it into the area. Then Israel goes in and murders innocent civilians with the aim of getting the terrorists, and isn't held accountable. Not that the actual terrorists are any better, but it's not like there are many options with them being backed into the corner so thoroughly.

@WhichDoctor1 No, but the Iran-Iraq war was in the '80s and my wife grew up during that time. Yes, she doesn't seem to harbor that much ill will, but then again her family was well connected over there and probably wasn't as impacted. Similarly, look at Iraq after the US invasion under W. It almost immediately developed into genocide. Granted, some of that was revenge for the genocide that the Sunni minority had engaged in during the '80s, but still.
