  1. That would speak to the motivation of the person that signed the affidavit. I'd suspect that him being a cop factored in, but he is also related to several members of the church and nobody was hurt. Unfortunately, we can't know whether it was his job, his relatives or just genuine compassion that led to the charges being dropped, but it could be any of those things. Perhaps the pastor there was just an actual Christian. I know there's not many left, especially in the South, but that would account for the leniency.
