  1. @Grand Inquisitor Not failing anybody isn't the problem. The problem is that the needed remediation isn't there. So, you get students that are passed from grade to grade that don't know what they're supposed to know. The way it's supposed to work is that those students are supposed to receive support catching up with the content that they didn't master. I have no idea what is supposed to happen if that content is everything though.

  2. We do, the standardized tests are graded in a standardized way. Your skin color or gender don't affect how the scores are tabulated. They may interpret how a student answers the question. In class, you can't have blind testing because then the teacher would have no way of knowing which students didn't grasp the information presented on the test.
