  1. I'd settle for hazard pay. I've been working in public through the pandemic and I only got basically minimum wage and that $1200 everybody else got. Meanwhile last week, I got to deal with a verbally abusive person trying to get a price check over the phone and chewing me out about how good I have it while he's been out of work. Dude was making more than I have been through the pandemic and was more interested in abusing me than in working with me while I bent the rules to help the guy out. This kind of thing really doesn't encourage me to care about the unemployed when we've been consistently hiring through the entire pandemic and positions haven't been getting filled. But, they got their $10k + benefits and I'll at most be eligible for the regular benefits and only under certain conditions as I'm working an essential job. Really, makes me want to just sit back and watch the whole country burn.

  2. Yes, but presumably the government there is doing what it can to ensure that people don't lose their homes or starve during lockdowns. Not that it makes it easy to be locked in, but at least your country is civilized enough that people won't be homeless as a result of a government order.
