That's ignorant. I don't like or particularly respect vegans, but that's a load of garbage. Breast milk is obtained with the consent of the woman that's lactating, cows don't get to consent. What's more, typical vegans consider situations where they have no choice to be exceptions. If you need medicine for treatment, it's OK to take it even if it's not normally vegan as long as there's no vegan alternative. And in cases where you're weak from starvation, it's OK to accept nutrients that are of animal origin as long as the body needs them, there isn't a vegan source and the body tolerates it. That's fairly typical of all the vegans I've met. There probably are crazier ones out there, but that's not typical to consider breast milk from the baby's mother to be non-vegan. Breast milk is literally the only thing that babies should be eating if possible. Formula is acceptable if she can't provide it in adequate amounts.
