  1. At least women get maternity leave, and a lot more than is necessary. Men generally don't get paternity leave and if they do get it, it's significantly less than what women get. In most cases, a woman can be back to work within a week of giving birth and historically that's what happened. The remaining time has little to do with pregnancy and everything to do with bonding with the baby.

  2. +John M, there's absolutely no reason that it has to be the mother. Women whine about how men aren't more involved with their children, but men don't get much in the way of paternity leave.

  3. Why should men pay for reproductive care for women when reproductive care for men isn't generally covered? Really, both should be covered, but in practice, it's something that men don't get and nobody seems to notice or care.

  4. +Kuma El Negro, Men need reproductive care because as we age we tend to have issues with our plumbing and none of that is covered under insurance. Things like obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, stress and the like damage the vascular system as does inflammation and scar tissue. That's assuming that it hasn't been damaged years earlier for one reason or another leaving a man incapable of having sex let alone having children. None of that is covered under insurance. This whole system where men are expected to subsidize women while our own needs go unmet is absolutely ridiculous. Women that choose not to have children make more money then men do and yet we're continually being told that we need to subsidize women. Women's health insurance is more expensive to provide even when excluding costs associated with pregnancy and even though men aren't being provided with any reproductive care and somehow we're wrong for questioning it.
