  1. Pretty much. Unfortunately, the way that slavery and the history of Black people in America has been so poorly covered in the K-12 system for so long that it makes it easy for folks to have these kinds of ignorant views. This isn't like in school where they falsely suggest that all Blacks in America prior to the civil war were slaves or that all whites owned or supported slavery. This should be a much more targeted coverage of what went on at that particular plantation. Any White person around that plantation prior to emancipation was in part responsible for the slavery, even if tacitly.

  3.  @oakstrong1  Why not? The South won the civil war, right? Oh wait, there was no civil war, it was a war amongst the states that the south won, and yet they had to make all the concessions. Sigh, the quality of education in the South is exceedingly poor.
